I was extremely exhausted and restless last night, I couldn’t find myself to fall asleep. Instead, I laid there tossing and turning and eventually found myself staring at the ceiling.
After an hour and a half of contemplating if I should just say F*ck it and just get up and do the dishes. Which is probably the reason I couldn’t fall asleep; I hate waking up to a dirty kitchen.

Eventually, I got up and decided to do a few minutes of meditation. 
Which is something I haven't done in a while, so it felt a bit unfamiliar.

I got in the obvious crossed-legged, palms up position, centered my heart with my naval and tried to find the rhythm of my breathing.
After a few minutes of trying to get the hang of it, I found myself balanced.
I went over some mantra’s my old yoga professor taught me and eventually caught myself repeating affirmation’s that brought me to this post.

The affirmations went something like this…
I am strong.
I am beautiful.
I am bright and brilliant.
I am fearless.
I am a creator.
I am confident in my own skin.

I didn’t want to repeat the same word twice, I wanted to speak as many positive and true words about myself that I could think of.

It was a challenge, so my words eventually turned into…
I will be successful
I will be a leader in my community
I will be a top investor
I will have my own business
I will be financially free
I will meet my fitness goal by __

The list went on until the end of my favorite Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 14 “Moonlight” was over.
Mind you, it’s only a three-minute piece.
But those three minutes shaped my entire following day. 
I woke up feeling rejuvenated, ready to work, ready to conquer whatever challenges that I had to face  (one of those challenges being my first big test of the semester).

The restless night, the meditation and the affirmations was unexpected but necessary.

The middle of the week is when I start to get lazy and feel like half-assing everything.
I wake up a little later, yoga pants become my go-to, my naps get a little longer, and my schedule turns into a blur.

Not today! I was productive, I was in a good mood, the weather was great and I was feeling confident.

 I got stuff done around the house that I been wanting to check off my list since the beginning of the new year...

As silly as you may feel when you first look in the mirror or when you close your eyes and remind yourself how beautiful you are and how great your life is, the result of those constant reminders are even funnier.

Funny in a way that it works! Your perception is your reality. Your thoughts and the words you speak are your strongest weapon and your greatest gift.

It takes twenty-five days to break a bad habit. If we didn’t speak ill of ourselves for twenty-five days and instead reminded ourselves of the uniqueness within us the result we would see would manifest our dream into a reality. 

We will find ourselves taking action, becoming healthier, staying active, being more cheerful and being honest. We will become the person we want to become all by shaping our thoughts and reminding ourselves of our worth.

There are two types of affirmations, negative ones and positive ones.  Let go of the every day negative affirmations such as: “Omg im so dumb”; “my arms look so fat”: “I hate my job”.

Turn those negative’s into a positive and remind yourself that you are..
Undeniably beautiful
The list goes on…

Let's keep this up not just for twenty five days but three hundred and sixty five days.

Your perspective is your reality, so we have to keep a positive mind and constantly remind ourselves how great our lives are and how much more greatness we have to come!
